About the Authors
Jared & Audrey Neibaur
Jared is a curious farmboy from Idaho. He has always had a love for growing things and a desire to invent things. He grew up caring for animals, farming and gardening. Though he didn't know it at the time, it was there that he learned to love the lifestyle of self-sufficiency and living off the land. His grandparents and great grandparents were living a self-sufficient lifestyle, so he is able to draw from a wealth of family knowledge. He often says that he hopes to bridge gaps the between that generation and the current generation so society doesn't lose the knowledge that used to keep us alive.
Jared lives with his wife, Audrey, and two kids on what's left of an old farmstead in Idaho. He is working to convert it into a working self-sufficiency farm. He created Simple Ground as a way to share his discoveries and maybe help others in their quest to do similar things.
Audrey may have grown up on a small farm in Idaho, but she spent a lot of that time being mom's right hand man around the house. She had the opportunity to learn to love working with children and the varied lifestyle of a homemaker through the example of her mother and older sisters. She's enjoying the opportunity to explore the homemaking aspect of self-sufficiency and she loves being wife and mother on this little farm, even though self-sufficiency may not be her passion. Jared and Audrey both love music and teaching. Audrey has a few vocal students of her own and hopes to someday be able to run a full blown vocal studio out of their home.
