It seems that we are all trying to save money, but it is even more true when you are striving to be self sufficient. That is where little money saving tricks come in handy every little bit counts. In today's commercial world it seems like the best option costs more money and penny pinching often means a less effective solution. I am excited to say that this old time window cleaning trick works so well, that you will wonder why you ever did it any other way.
Cleaning windows with newspapers isn't new, most of my readers will say "oh yeah", instead of "oh wow" when they read this. I'm sure this method has been around nearly as long as newspaper. There are also great benefits. Newspaper doesn't leave streaks or lint on the glass like paper towels but it is just as disposable. It is also really cheap compared to paper towels, and when you are done washing windows you can can dry the newspaper and toss it in the recycle bin, or compost depending on the cleaner that you use.

How To
Really the concept is as easy as you might think. You would just use the newspaper as you would a paper towel. Apply your glass cleaner to the window or the newspaper and wipe and scrub until the streaks and dirt are gone. And really it is that simple. You have to have a little patience as the newspaper soaks up the cleaner and softens but you will soon see the results. I will issue a few words of caution though. First, pick out the right type of paper. You want to use, you don't want the glossy magazine type paper, only the traditional newspaper. Also, avoid the large color prints. They will still clean your window but they may leave color streaks on anything non-glass that you rub them against or set them on.
